Lion Containers completed a bespoke shipping container workshop conversion for a Plymouth-based company that specialises in the design, manufacture, and operation of manned and unmanned vehicles for military and commercial markets. The client required a high-quality, purpose-built shipping container workshop to support ongoing boat repair operations.

To meet these requirements, Lion Containers transformed a 40ft high-cube shipping container into a fully functional and insulated shipping container workshop. The unit featured two anti-vandal windows to allow natural light into the interior while maintaining high security, along with a single personnel door for safe, easy access. Inside the shipping container workshop, the team installed four heavy-duty workbenches with adjustable feet, allowing technicians to alter the working height to suit different tasks. Lion also installed six storage cupboards sprayed in RAL 5010, to provide ample storage and create a uniform look. The team fitted each cupboard with under-cabinet lighting to ensure a well-lit workspace.

Lion Containers fully lined and insulated the interior of the unit with melamine ply, creating a clean, durable, and temperature-controlled environment. The team also installed a basic electrical package, including ceiling-mounted lighting, two wall-mounted heaters, and four double sockets, to ensure the workshop was fully equipped.

The final workshop was sprayed externally in RAL 5010. Lion Containers completed the full shipping container workshop conversion in just two weeks and delivered it directly to the client’s site in Plymouth.
