The client required a bespoke green container that would provide secure, insulated storage while complementing the surrounding parkland. The container also needed to support a green roof installation, helping it blend naturally into its surroundings. 

In addition, the unit needed to be durable, easy to transport and secure enough to protect equipment stored on site. 

The Container Conversion Solution

Lion Containers designed and manufactured a bespoke green container measuring 3.7m (L) × 3m (W) × 2.6m (H), finished in RAL 6024 Green. 

To make transportation and positioning straightforward, the container included both corner castings and forklift pockets. 

Specifications 

The interior was fully insulated and ply-lined to create a durable storage space suitable for year-round use. An anti-slip painted floor completed the internal fit-out, providing a practical finish for everyday use. 

Exterior Features

The exterior included: 

• Fabricated personnel door 
• Single locking bar 
• Lockbox for enhanced security 
• Finished in RAL 6024 Green 
• Bespoke green roof frame 

Lion also supplied and installed the green roof frame, ready for the client to add the soil and planting after delivery. 

Lion completed the bespoke modifications and delivered the finished green container on time, keeping the project on schedule. 

Delivery

The container was delivered to Tower Hamlets in London. Although access to the site required careful manoeuvring, the delivery went smoothly and the driver positioned the container exactly where it was required.

The completed green container now provides secure, insulated storage that blends into its parkland surroundings, thanks to its RAL 6024 Green finish. 

The bespoke design also allowed the client to complete the roof installation after delivery, combining secure storage with a feature that complements the surrounding landscape.
