A specialist boat company placed a web enquiry with us on July 2018 for a 20ft side opening container for use as a chemical store. The initial enquiry stated the need for shelving within the store, however, after correspondence with the customer, we found that their budget could not accommodate the cost of shelving.
In efforts to aid the customer in their purchase, we discussed how we could discount the container to help with the requirements. Though it was decided to remove the shelving in the end, the customer was happy with the discounted service and communications we provided and so, placed their order soon afterwards.
In the end, we converted the 20’ new shipping container into a HS2 chemical store with:
• Bunded, grated floor with drain valve – the bund was created with an upstand of approx. 100mm covered with a mesh style grill to allow for spillages
• 2 standard 300m x 300m louvre for ventilation
• A 2mm flat steel floor overlay
• Central Strip Deck 3mm Durbar plate
• Blow in paintwork of RAL 6007 at weld points externally

The HS2 chemical store arrived at the customer’s site 34 days from their initial enquiry and they were happy with the end product. Despite the fact that the original enquiry had to be tailored, we were accommodating to help with the customer’s budget and they were happy with the overall product and service received.
