We are proud to have been invited to a prestigious apprenticeship event at St. James’s Palace, London. This event is being held to celebrate the success of the Ladder for Staffordshire, Ladder for the Black Country and Ladder for Shropshire initiatives.

Lion Containers Ltd are part of Ladder for the Black Country; an initiative which first began in London, where businesses are encouraged to take on young people and invest in their future. The evnt will be attended by employers and apprentices who have been involved with the Ladder in the different areas. It is being held at St James’s Palace; the setting for some of the most important events in Royal history
, on 27th April and the Duke of York will be attending to hear about some of the apprentices’ experiences.

Young people face many hurdles when looking for work, and apprenticeships help to give them a step up in the world of work and gain valuable experience. Lion Containers Ltd have been running a successful apprenticeship scheme since 2013, and all apprentices so far have gone on to be offered full time contracts with the firm. Customer Services and Business Development apprentices Kieran Perry and Courtney Aris will be attending the event at St. James Palace, along with their mentor Senior Sales and Business Development Manager Mitch Gobsill.

As well as attending the event, we were asked to feature in a film which will be shown at the Palace, as well as at various locations around the UK. Both Kieran and Mitch were interviewed for the film, and Kieran even did a spot of acting at our storage depot. Go behind the scenes of this filming in the video on the left.

It is a real honour to be asked to attend such a prominent event. We are extremely proud of all of our apprentices; past and present. They have all contributed to Lion Containers Ltd being recognised as a firm who nurture and support our young members of staff, leading to them becoming forces to be reckoned with in the industry. Our apprentices begin their working life with us with no experience whatsoever, and in just a short space of time they are managing high cost projects and holding meetings with blue chip clients. We get a real sense of fulfillment from our apprenticeship scheme, as it not only provides vital skills to local young people, but also creates a vibrant, creative and competitive working atmosphere
.” – Mitch Gobsill
