Lion Containers Ltd are Regional Finalists in Building Excellence Awards

We were regionally shortlisted as finalists in the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Building Excellence Awards 2016. Unfortunately we didn’t win, but were very proud to have been nominated in the first place.

We supply shipping containers for general storage and also for bespoke modification project builds, and have worked with a wide variety of organisations from SMEs to blue chip companies. Clients range from national games committees and world champion sports teams, to Ministry of Defence agencies and organisations, the NHS and educational establishments.

We were shortlisted due to our involvement with an innovative and ambitious build for Hereford Skate Park. The brief was to provide a two-tier structure made out of two 40ft shipping containers replicating a retro Boombox stereo. This needed to accommodate a shop and recreational area for the skate park users. The client; Wheeled Sports 4 Hereford, had enrolled the services of an architect for the original design. We worked with the architect to provide significant advice and guidance and built a product that met their bespoke requirements.

LABC represents all local authority building control teams in England and Wales. Their members work cooperatively with building owners, home owners, architects, plan drawers, developers, building contractors and other professionals to ensure buildings are safe, healthy and efficient to meet the standards set by the building regulations.
The LABC Building Excellence Awards celebrate all thats good in the construction industry, they were held in Bristol on Friday 6th May.

As well as this nomination, we have also made it through to the final 4 of this years
Express & Star Business Awards in the category Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year. These awards will shine a spotlight on the businesses that represent the whole range of commercial activity across the Midlands region, and will be held in Wolverhampton on Thursday 28th May.
