All across the UK, every year Father’s Day is celebrated by millions of people. There isn’t a better feeling than putting a smile on your loved ones’ face and this year I gifted my father the perfect gift that any Dad will love. If your dad likes to have a nice cold pint in the sun or to sit back and relax after a hard day’s work, away from all the noise and racket, then this will be the perfect present for him too. 

The “Dads’ Get Away Box” will be a made using a new (once shipped)
20ft side opening container, painted his favourite colour, matt black (well, that’s my Dad’s favourite anyway – we can
paint to any colour). When those large concertina double doors open, this space will feel light and airy yet still warm and secure, with double glazed sliding bi-fold doors installed behind them.

Inside, laminate floor can be fitted throughout which will allow Dad to have a nice and easy finish to keep clean. In order to keep the unit at a comfortable temperature throughout the year we would install a split
air conditioning unit that can both heat and cool. If your Dad is anything like mine, he’s always complaining about how hot he is, then how cold he is, well he can control his own temperature now. To ensure that we keep the old man happy, we will line and insulate the container with a melamine finish for ease. However we can offer alternative finishes such as painting, patterned melamine or plasterboard to give him a project to finish himself.

Another couple of options would be to have a small self-contained canteen area, nothing too big, just a fridge unit (for those beers!) and a sink with a fitted cupboard beneath. We can install our standard
electrical package or something with a bit more personality. As long as there are enough sockets for all of Dads’ gadgets, he will be happy. 

At the end of a long day, my Dad will be able to chill out and relax in “Dads’ Get Away Box”, an area that will be tailored to suit him. I really hope he loves his gift from me, no other Dad will have a unique gift like his… well, until you make one for your Dad.
